The Secretariat

TTS Ltd was established in 1992 to provide administrative support for small firms and CPD seminars in the area of finance primarily for members of the Institute of Financial Accountants. Initially there were four Directors but by 1998 this had become 2 and on the death of the senior partner in 2004 Ian became the major shareholder with his wife and daughters being the remaining shareholders.

During the major growth period for AIFAWTO Ian and Liz handled the admin between them as including the sale and despatch of books this took 50 hours a week. With the decline on  book sales and the consequent loss of finance  to AIFAWTO the contract was reduced to and as and when needed agreement. Since this meant phone lines could not be maintained AIFAWTO switched to a telephone answering service who relay messages to  the secretariat by email.

Currently the service is run by Ian who started his first aid career with the Scouts, then became the first aider in his first place of work in 1959. He ran the first aid courses at Northbrook College from the inception of FAW till he retired from the college in 1992 and continued running them through his own company till 2001. He holds valid FAW and instructor/Assessor qualifications.

Ian is a qualified company secretary, as well as holding qualifications in Accountancy,  economics and first aid including Instructor in first aid. His experience apart from running his own firm includes 8 years in industry a further 8 in central Government and 20 in teaching.

The Secretariat will deal with questions from members not merely on first aid issues but also on any aspect of running a business, and where they cannot provide an answer will point members in the right direction.
